OUR HEALTH & SAFETY

HEALTH & SAFETY EMBEDDED IN OUR CULTURE

We don’t just want to send our team home safe, we’re also committed to creating a healthier, safer New Zealand. Our methodologies for asbestos removal and demolition set the standard and help ensure that future generations can enjoy every inch of this beautiful country, by leaving not a single trace behind.

INVESTING IN OUR PEOPLE

We invest thousands of dollars in training, aiming to have each team member hold at least a COC class B license. This delivers unmatched flexibility, maximised project outcomes and a team of people empowered to make more of their careers.

KEEPING PEOPLE SAFE IS ABOUT CARE, LOVE AND RESPECT

Health and safety measures are only as effective as the people implementing them. Many companies merely check boxes, but true health and safety go beyond that. It’s not about adhering to a set of rules; it’s about fostering a culture where everyone involved has the training, knowledge, and commitment to keep themselves and their colleagues safe.

So while we comply with all New Zealand and Australian regulations, meet the stringent, world-leading HSE standards and hold an ISO45001 certification, our commitment to health and safety goes much further.

WHY GO DEEPER THAN THE GUIDELINES?

The sad reality is that when there are set-in-stone rules, without the context or understanding why they exist, people will always find loopholes. That means they technically comply with the regulations but do so in ways that don’t keep themselves or their co-workers safe.

That’s why we work with our team and clients to help move them beyond the rules. To do that, we use our deep understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015). By interpreting the law rather than relying just on the regulations, we can conduct ourselves in a way that always keeps our people safe. It also makes us exceptional on tricky projects – we can create smarter solutions to complex issues that offer better efficiency, better safety or better outcomes – or all three.

SAFETY BEFORE ALL ELSE

At our core, we are committed to leaving New Zealand safer for our Tamariki and future generations. This commitment means we always prioritise safety, even if it comes at a cost. For instance, we turned down a highly lucrative project because its parameters conflicted with our ethical standards – a decision made by management and fully supported by our entire team.

In another instance, while working on a large-scale residential site, we insisted on continuing asbestos removal until no detectable traces remained in the soil. This was essential to us because the site would be a place where children play and gardens flourish. For us, the only safe level of asbestos is zero.

Our fundamental goal is to ensure every New Zealander has the opportunity to own a piece of clean, healthy land. We go above and beyond to make this vision a reality.

BACKED BY INNOVATION, COMMITMENT AND CONVICTION: BEHIND OUR BIG MACHINES AND UNMATCHED EXPERIENCE IS A COMPANY DRIVEN BY HEART – FOR OUR PEOPLE, OUR CUSTOMERS AND OUR COMMUNITIES.
