Sunderland Farmers Market
This project encompassed the removal of six engineering buildings with the intention of redeveloping the area into offices and a farmers market.
The construction of the buildings included asbestos in the flooring and Super Six roofing in areas formly used for high heat activities. The external hanger doors were Super Six and the metal structure was degraded requiring major works for clearance.
The buildings were very old and roof spaces were covered in bird droppings encapsulating the fibres in the rafters. The clean was extensive and challenging. However the project was successful and the site was cleared for use after a full clean was undertaken plus a final re-clean to ensure swabs would return the right outcome.
